All of you know Poly Lactic Acid, or PLA is biobased. Most of you also know that PLA is recyclable. But did you know Luminy PLA is actually recycled today? Using infrared IR technology, PLA plastic products can be easily sorted from other municipal plastic waste, and where PLA bottles and cups are exclusively used, the amount of PLA is sufficient to make it economically feasible to collect, sort, and clean the PLA.
