Columbia Fruit is a family owned business which was started in the 1940’s. They have a 36 lane cherry solution. In this video we hear from Mike Wade who owns the company, he talks about the decision process they went through when selecting who they wanted to partner with. Mike also discusses what features were important to the business and talks about the performance of the line after running for a season. He describes the speed and accuracy of electronic sizing as being a paradigm shift for how cherries are sorted. He mentions the return on investment due to the ability to pull the premium sized cherries out and receive a premium price by sending them to a higher paying market.
